Shaarei Tikvah stands with Israel. See our new page with helpful information and links to donate.

Culture, Social, Fun

Throughout the year, there’s lots going on at Shaarei Tikvah, including:

An annual concert featuring world-class musicians with compositions – and even an opera – by our own cantor, Gerald Cohen, a prominent composer.

Social events, including an annual summer barbeque, karaoke night and The Party, our annual fundraiser that’s also lots of fun.

ST Social meets with and without children for socializing and support. Events have included Vodka and Latkes, Sake in the Sukkah, Lag B’Omer picnics and more.

Holiday Festivities, including a Chanukah Party, a Yom Haatzmaut BBQ, a Purim Carnival for kids and our Purim Panopoly, a Purim spiel definitely not for kids.

STikball, our softball team, plays in a county-wide league.

Brotherhood is the men’s service, educational and social arm of our congregation. We encourage all members and their adult children to join with us. Membership dues are $36.00 per year and are returned to the community in the form of kiddush cups and Tallit bags for the synagogue’s B’nai Mitzvah. We sponsor relevant programs including “The World Wide Wrap” on Super Bowl Sunday designed to teach how to put on tefillin ,the Build-a-Pair program in the Religious School, building of the Sukkah, “Hearing Men’s Voices”, Keruv, Brotherhood Shabbat during Passover and the Passover Wine Sale. We also honor a “Man of the Year” and “Youth of the Year” from the synagogue membership at a celebration held in conjunction with the Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs.

SHTYX, our a capella singing group, performs at various functions throughout the year.
