about our honorees
Honoring Audrey and Jeff Kapner Audrey and Jeff joined Shaarei Tikvah when their daughter was in Kindergarten, drawn to the warmth of our community. Always a doer, Audrey quickly volunteered to chair the PTA Passover chocolate sale, and soon became PTA co-chair and chaired the Party’s silent auction. Audrey served on the Board and Executive Committee for ten years, including serving three years as Treasurer. Jeff has contributed his legal expertise to the shul, and has been a vital support of Audrey’s volunteer work. Audrey and Jeff consider the Shaarei Tikvah community and staff a close part of their family.
Gates of Hope Honoree Kathy Auerbach Kathy was raised in a Johannesburg, South African household steeped in Jewish tradition, the granddaughter of escapees from Nazi Germany. Kathy has instilled in her own children the importance of Jewish values and has modeled a strong example of leadership and volunteerism at Shaarei Tikvah. She has served as School Board Chair, providing her professional expertise, sharp wit, and warm support to help guide Sha’ar through a period of intense growth and through the challenges of the Covid pandemic. A member of the Board of Trustees since 2021, she is also currently serving on the Rabbinic Advisory and B’nei Mitzvah committees.

Do you have a service to offer or access to great items such as sports tickets or restaurant gift certificates? A great way to support The Party is by donating an item or a member experience to our auction. Some "hot" member experiences in the past have included a Persian dinner at the Darviches or a round of golf or pickleball game with one of our members.
